Butterscotch
Butterscotch is an adorable 4.5-year-old chocolate piebald shorthair miniature dachshund weighing just 10 pounds. This darling little girl has a wonderful balance of sweetness, playfulness, and affection, making her a lovely companion for the right family!
Butterscotch can be just a tiny bit nervous when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up! Once she’s comfortable, she’s friendly, affectionate, and loves soaking up attention from her favorite people. She enjoys companionship and is always happy to receive a little extra love!
One of the things we love about Butterscotch is her nicely balanced personality. She enjoys playing and interacting with the other dogs, but she isn’t constantly on the go or demanding entertainment. At the same time, she’s not a complete couch potato either! She’s a happy medium — playful when the opportunity arises, but perfectly content to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.
Butterscotch’s ideal home would have a securely fenced backyard where she can safely explore, enjoy some fresh air, and play with her canine friends. She would do best with a friendly, confident dog companion who can help her feel comfortable and provide companionship throughout the day.
We also believe Butterscotch would likely do well in a home with children, making her a wonderful candidate for a family looking to add a sweet little dachshund to their household. Her future family should be willing to give her a little time to settle in and allow her personality to shine.
Butterscotch is crate trained, but she will need continued work with house training and leash training. Her new family should be prepared to help her develop these skills with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
Butterscotch has been spayed, recently had a dental cleaning, is up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. She is also current on her monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, so she’s ready to begin her next chapter with a loving family!
