Fritter
Fritter is a 2-year-old red dapple piebald shorthair miniature dachshund with a gentle disposition and so much love to give.
Fritter is a little reserved when she first meets someone or finds herself in a new environment. Fortunately, it usually doesn’t take her long to feel more at ease! Once Fritter has settled in, she’s a calm, loving, snuggly companion who enjoys being close to her favorite people.
We’re hoping to find Fritter a peaceful, adult-only home where she can feel safe and confident. She would benefit from having a friendly, confident dog companion who can help her adjust to her new surroundings. A securely fenced backyard would be ideal, giving her a safe place to explore and enjoy some fresh air. However, we believe she could also adapt to apartment living with the right family, a little patience, and a consistent routine.
Fritter is already crate trained, which gives her new family a great starting point! She has not yet mastered house training or walking on a leash, so she’ll need someone willing to continue teaching her these skills through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
While Fritter may not be the first dog to run up and greet a stranger, she has such a lovely personality once she feels comfortable. She’s the kind of little girl who simply needs a chance to get to know you before revealing her affectionate, cuddly side.
Fritter is spayed, had a recent dental cleaning, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm, flea, and tick preventative.
