Sprout
Sprout is a lovely 4½-year-old shorthair black and cream brindle girl searching for a patient and loving home. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on heartworm prevention, and recently had a dental, so she’s all set for her next adventure.
Sprout is a sweet girl who just needs a little time to warm up to new people. Once she feels comfortable, her playful personality shines through. She gets along well with other dogs and especially enjoys running, playing, and keeping an eye out for squirrels—she definitely has that classic Dachshund hunting spirit.
She is crate trained, but she is not yet leash trained or house trained, so her new family should be ready to work with her and grant her patience as she learns these skills.
Sprout would likely do best in a house with a fenced yard where she can safely run and explore. She would also benefit from having at least one other dog in the home, as she enjoys canine companionship. She has never been around young children, and would likely do best in a home with older kids or adults (around 13+) who can give her the space and patience she needs while she settles in. She has also not been around cats or other small animals.
Sprout is a wonderful girl who just needs the right environment to feel safe and thrive. With a little patience and love, she will make a loyal, fun companion for years to come.
