Adults for Adoption
Read "What To Expect" We are happy to introduce our adult dachshunds who are now seeking their forever families. These cherished girls have been beloved members of our breeding program and are now retired, ready to enjoy a new chapter of life in a loving home. These girls are each different with unique personalities. Having spent their lives here with us, they are accustomed to routine and familiar faces. Transitioning to a new home will be a significant adjustment for them, and they will need time, patience, and understanding as they settle in and get to know their new families. A good home is our highest priority! Rehoming adults can be very stressful, both on the dogs and well as on us here at DDR as this is the most difficult part of what we do. Therefore, we are very careful about where we place them. We want our dogs and their new families to be as happy as they can be. With the right care and a gentle approach, these wonderful dogs will blossom into loyal companions. While they may be shy or reserved at first, their affectionate nature and loving hearts will shine through as they learn to trust and feel secure. We are looking for adopters who are committed to providing a stable, caring environment and are willing to give these girls the time they need to truly feel at home. If you are ready to open your heart and home to a deserving dachshund, we invite you to learn more about our retired adults. Your patience and kindness will be rewarded with a devoted friend for life. Please click on each dog to read an individual bio about her. If you feel like your family would be a good match for her, fill out the application and someone will reach out via email within 24 hours. The next step will then be to plan a meet and greet, where you come out to the ranch and meet the dog(s) you are interested in. After a successful meet and greet, you will be able to take your new friend home with you! We do require that you meet any dog you are interested in here at the ranch (Center Point, TX 78010) prior to taking it home. Keep in mind when reading each bio that we are describing how the dog acts around us, the people she knows and the environment she knows, and how we believe she will behave once adjusted in her new home. This will likely not be the personality you see at the meet and greet or for the first couple of weeks. We do charge an adoption fee and we give a 2 week trial period, during which your adoption fee is completely refundable. Adjusting to a new home can be hard, and we will always welcome our dogs back home if needed! All dogs are spayed/neutered, have had their recent dental done and are fully vaccinated. They all come with their AKC registration and are microchipped. Please note: We never guarantee potty training due to the stress that rehoming can have on dogs. Our adopters MUST be willing to understand this and adjust accordingly. Read more about each of our available dogs by clicking on their name below.
